Brindisi–Corfu 2025: Comar Yachts Shine in a Test of Endurance and Precision

The Brindisi–Corfu International Regatta is one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic offshore races, spanning 104 miles of open water. Known for unpredictable winds and challenging tactical decisions, it is a proving ground for both sailors and boats. In the 2025 edition, two Comar Yachts delivered standout performances: Splash Comet C 45s finished second in Class A Group G, while Verve Camer Comet C 50s secured third in Class 0 Group G.

These results highlight the exceptional design and resilience of Comar Yachts, vessels crafted in Italy with a legacy of performance, comfort, and style that continues to resonate with sailors worldwide.

A Battle Against Shifting Winds

This year’s race demanded constant adjustments as crews faced a long stretch of upwind sailing. Just as the finish line came into view, the wind dropped unexpectedly, adding one last obstacle to an already grueling crossing. Only the best-prepared boats and sharpest crews managed to hold their advantage.

“It was wonderful to arrive at six in the morning, before the wind abandoned the race course, less than a mile from the larger boats,” shared Gianni Savino, skipper of Splash. “We thought we were among 50-footers, but instead they were 60-footers. We were thrilled. We sailed with Dacron sails—a mainsail, spinnaker, and gennaker—while other boats had Code 0s, carbon sails, and masts. Yet the Comet C 45s held its own beautifully. It’s a boat built with composite construction and a perfect hull. We’ve cruised on it many times, and now we’re venturing into offshore racing, starting with the Brindisi–Corfu and the Est 105, and soon into the northern Adriatic.”

Verve Camer’s Fluid Performance

Aboard Verve Camer Comet C 50s, precision and responsiveness made the difference. “In these conditions, the boats that could detect even the smallest change in pressure excelled—and ours did not disappoint,” explained Captain Francesco Rima. “From the start, Verve glided across the water with grace, responding precisely to every adjustment. Even in the final miles, as the wind weakened, we stayed competitive against much larger opponents. Sailing on this yacht is silent, fluid, and truly exhilarating.”

Rima credited the crew and strong teamwork for the result. With owner Giuseppe Greco, tactician Tonia, and an experienced group from Compagnia della Vela Salento, the team demonstrated perfect harmony under pressure. Supported by partners Camer, Cielle Impianti, Unipol, Nuovarredo, Caffè Sereno, and Metalgi, Verve Camer is already preparing for upcoming challenges, including the Veleziana and Barcolana regattas.

Comar Yachts: Built for Racing and Cruising

The achievements of Splash and Verve Camer at Brindisi–Corfu 2025 reinforce the reputation of Comar Yachts as leaders in Italian yacht building. Known for their innovative design, balance, and strength, Comet models seamlessly transition between relaxed cruising and competitive offshore racing.

While many enthusiasts associate catamarans with speed and stability, Comar’s monohulls like the Comet C 45s and C 50s demonstrate that finely tuned yachts can rival and often outperform larger or more modern competitors. Their ability to hold pace in challenging conditions proves the value of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Sailing Into the Future

As Splash and Verve Camer set their sights on new regattas, their success at Brindisi–Corfu stands as a reminder of what makes Comar Yachts exceptional: boats that endure, inspire, and deliver thrilling performance year after year. Whether for racing, cruising, or simply experiencing the beauty of sailing, these yachts remain a symbol of Italian excellence on the water.
