comar yachts - c-cat 38
The C-Cat 38 is a remarkably spacious and comfortable catamaran for its size. But what makes this “pocket cruiser” stand out is its fun factor due to performance, ease of sail management, and not forgetting safety. Since 1982 the architect, Marc Lombard, has designed a great number of monohull and catamarans, some for comfort and others for performance, the C-Cat 38 checks both boxes.
The wave-piercing reverse sheer hulls are narrow below the waterline for less wetted surface with inboard/outboard chines above the waterline increasing the interior hull volume. Fixed hydrodynamic shoal keels (centerboards are optional) provide lateral resistance and protection to the saildrives and rudders. The deck design consists of dual aft helms with mechanical steering and total sail management from the safety of the cockpit.
Hull construction consists of white gelcoat, Gurit® Corecell™ M SAN Polymer marine foam core with bi-directional and multi-directional E-glass. Unique is the bridgedeck and both hulls are laminated in one-shot eliminating any junctures for a stronger and lighter hull using resin-infused epoxy/vinylester. All through hulls below and above the waterline are installed in a solid laminate preventing migration of water into the core.
Deck construction consists of white gelcoat w/diamond non-skid, Gurit® Corcell™ M SAN polymer marine foam core with bi-directional and multi-directional E-glass. As with the hull lamination, the deck, cockpit, and coachroof are laminated in one-shot using resin-infused vinylester resin. All deck hardware installed in a solid laminate preventing migrations of water into the core. The deck to hull is bonded using fiberglass and resin creating a monolithic shell for added stiffness . . . “Built For Sailors by Sailors”
